Love Not at First Sight by Sarah Ready is the second book of the Soul Mates in Romeo series, a collection of stand-alone contemporary romance novels set in Romeo, NY, the official town of love. I flew through this book in the matter of an evening. I couldn’t put it down. This novel may be short on pages, but it’s big on impact. My emotions ran the gambit from laughing to holding my breath to weeping in dismay to crying tears of joy.
Ready has a knack for creating endearing relationships that are believable and meaningful. My favorite thing about Sam and Veronica is their transformation as individuals because of the relationship developing between them. Of course this story features two of my favorite tropes, enemies-to-lovers and forced proximity, with the added bonus of both characters being kept in the dark, quite literally. Love Not at First Sight shows how the right kind of love can make you a better person. After devouring books one and two, I can’t wait for book three in this series. In the meantime, I guess I’ll check out Sarah Ready’s backlist.
