Wild Chance by Mari Carr is the thirteenth book in her Wilder Irish series. While these books revolve around characters in the same family, they can be read independently of one another. This was my first read of this series and I can honestly say I’m ready to download all twelve of them and binge them through the month of August.
This book was a quick read, but not too short. While I could tell there were aspects that would have been clearer to me having read the other twelve books, at no point did I feel lost. Carr does an excellent job reintroducing the important elements to refresh previous readers of the series and inform new. The glimpses of the other family members and their love stories has me itching to pick up the other installments. While I don’t regret starting with book 13, if you can start at the beginning, I encourage you to do so. You won’t regret it!
Padraig and Emmy are everything. I love this duo. Their chemistry, their friendship, their naughty sides ;-). I fell in love with each of them individually first, but by the end, I loved them together as well. Both struggling to move past family tragedies, I admire how these two characters grew and supported each other in different ways.
In case you missed it, these are STEAMY books. The romance is wholesome, but sex scenes are FIRE!
My first book by Mari Carr, but it will not be my last! Highly recommend for romance readers who enjoy second chance romance, friends to lovers, overprotective males, and steam with a hint of bondage.
